StyleCAD's Grading Options:


StyleCAD gives the user the below options to grade using:

The Grading Panel, using only the mouse

Keyboard Grading.

Rule Libarary.

Plus a combination of the above with the below options:

  • Auto Blend Grading; normally on as the default but in the Pattern Property window, turn off the Auto Blend Grading Data and grading can be fined tuned between a grade point and intermediate point. Also by turning on all points, the Drag Grading tool can be used to move intermediate points around the curve on all required sizes. The different types of grading can also be chosen by the user from the Point property window .

  • Multi Point Grading; Hold down the Shift key and click on points or drag around the points .

  • Copy Previous Grading; click on the Copy Previous button if the next point to grade is the same or use Control-C to copy & Control-V to paste from one grade point to any other .

  • Grading Ratio; this can be typed into the Grading Panel and turned on when required to save having to input an uneven grade ratio. E.g. a half grade .

  • Grading Pattern Annotations may be graded along with the rest of the pattern
  • Grade Maintain Curvature allows the user to control the graded curve. Auto Blend Grading Data must be turned off


  • Curve Lock Grading; grading so the curve does not change, e.g. lock one side of an arm hole


  • Automatic Grading; Any graded pattern can be registered to the AutoGrade and then used to automatically grade other patterns from then on


  • Grading Axis; is a horizontal/vertical measurement grading tool. Just click the centre point to change the axis.


  • Non Linear Grading; tick on in the Grading Panel and an irregular grade can be changed without affecting the irregular amount.


  • Copy Grading Tool; is used to store and copy the grading from a point to another point or points + simply control c, v.


  • Drag Grading; to drag an individual size without changing other sizes.
  • Intermediate Grading; to automatically grade curves from multiple patterns combined as one, the user only has to grade the two outside points.


  • Radial Grading Tool; to grade curve and radial patterns/shapes.


  • Perimeter Grading; to grade by simply entering the desired distance and the section is automatically graded.


  • Group Grading (Advanced PDS Feature); Grading can be distributed over a group of patterns that will be sewn together.
