Upgrading Net v4.0 to Net v5.0 Upgrading from the 4.0 network version to the 5.0 network version is very simple. The only CDs required for the operation are the Net v5.0 Installation CDs, since StyleCAD does not use upgrade CDs. Follow the steps below to complete the operation. For Server 1. Backup StyleCAD INI files in C:\Winnt folder just in case. 2. Backup MyRules40.mdb in the C:\SCAD folder. 3. Send SoftFashion the server's MAC code. 4. Uninstall StyleCAD Net Server and restart the computer. 5. Insert the Server CD and follow the on-screen instructions. 6. During the setup, when prompted by Super Pro Service Loader, Click on "Install Service." 7. Enter the ScadProtect code when prompted. 8. Copy the backed-up MyRules40.mdb back to C:\SCAD. For Stations 1. Backup StyleCAD INI files in the C:\Winnt folder. 2. Insert the Station CD and follow the on-screen instructions. 3. For stations, the ScadProtect code is NOT required. 4. Be sure to give the correct Server computer's name when prompted. 5. Restart the computer. *6. If something doesn't work due to the new installation, copy the backed up INI files to C:\scad and rename them. For example, GradingNet40.ini --> GradingNet50.ini and so on. |
