1. Copy Metafile to Illustrator
One or more selected pieces in StyleCAD can be copied to metafile and the pasted (Control-V) in Illustrator.

2. Floating Notch
V9 provides a new floating notch feature where the floating notch maintains the distance from the reference point even after the underlying curve is modified.

3. Measure Angle between 2 sections and Quick Step rotation.
Using 'A' quickStep, angle between any 2 arbitrary sections can be quickly measured.
Also, rotating a pattern or selected sections by accurate angle has been made extremely
easy using quickStep entry of the angle.

4. Convert Internal Line to Wave/ZigZag Style
When selected internal lines are converted to a notation, the line style can be changed to either wave or zig zag.

5. Facing Binding
With the Facing tool, a straigt binding piece with the matching length can be produced. Notches are automatically copied from the selected section and between multiple sections.

6. Attaching Image To Pattern
An image such as logo/design/label can be attached to a closed internal rectangular shape within a pattern. The image moves, rotates with the pattern.

7. Inside Seam Wizard
This is similar to the Add Seam Inside tool but different. The user can enter seam width around the pattern while seeing the developing sewing line. The tool allows changing the seam width entry. When everything looks OK, keep the entry.

8. Working in MM (millimeter) unit
In addition to CM working unit, V9 provides MM working unit. MM working unit eliminates the need to enter decimal point in most case.

22. Pattern Specification (Made to Measure feature)
The following video demonstrates all measurement types possible with the Pattern Spec tool.
The pattern spec data can be exported to Excel and printed for record keeping. Measurements can
be programmed to be interdependant so that a modification in one measurement can cause
automatic adjustment of other measurements.

Grading Tools
1. Grading of Parallel Line
If parallel line is created from a graded section, then the parallel line is automatically graded
perfectly to maintain the gap for all sizes. However, if one side of the parallel lines are graded later,
this new tool makes grading the other side very easy.

Marking Tools
1. Automatic Insertion of Splice Lines.
The user can enter the maximum overlap margin and the tool searchs the marker for the
location of splice lines and automatically inserts them.

2. Copy Grouping to Other Bundles
The maximum number of pieces in the group has been increased to 5. Grouping with more than 5 pieces can not be copied to other bundles.

3. Custom Buffering
Custom Buffering allows control over where buffering is added. This eliminates having buffer around areas where buffer is not necessary. Custom buffering for a pattern is defined in PDS and applied when a marker is created.

4. Create Merged Marker and Open Marker Direct improvement
A marker can be created from multiple styles using spreadsheet like entry form. The open marker direct window shows the marker preview when the marker is selected.

8. Alternate Marker Configuration 1 and 2
With the same style, the user may define 2 additional alternate marker configuration settings.
Each market configuration setting allows you to define different Single/Pair property, piece quantity,
piece marker group, and marker exclusion setting. This allows creating completely different
markers from the same style file.

9. Storing Markers In Any Folder.
By default, StyleCAD stores marker files in the same folder where the style file is.
This allows easy management and search. However, some users may want to store marker files
in other folders. For example, the user might want to separate markers based on customers.
V9 now has a built in feature to allow this.

10. Automatic Alignment of Front and Back for Stripe Fabric
This feature can be used when stripe or checker type material that requires lining up
of pieces.
In V8, the automatic align option grouped the left and right pair together.
In V9, the feature allows aligning the Back piece or even other pieces that needs to be
aligned.

11. Overlap and Gap Tools in Marking
Sometimes pieces can be manually overlapped minimally to yield better fabric utilization.
On the other hand, pieces can be nested with gap in between to ensure higher quality cut.
StyleCAD always had many convenient tools to make this type of operation easy.
V9 added a few more wrinkles to make things a little quicker.

12. Marking - Shortcuts
A glossary of all the frequently used short cuts in marking program. A few new ones
in V9 are presented also such as Control+arrow keys for quick flip, Control+PgDn/PgUp for
unfolding and folding, I for incremental slide and S for sewing line visibility control.

13. Marking - Wriggle Tool Enhancement
In V9, the wriggle tool has been modified to allow slight overlap (up to 1/10 inch) with
other pieces or being slightly outside the marker borders.
If the control key is depressed while the piece is pulled,
the tool will automatically rotate the piece up to 5 degrees in either direction
to achieve the best fit.

14. Marking - Pattern Shape Change in Marking
There are times when a marker wishes to modify a pattern shape in marking.
In V9, a Pattern can be cut by a straight line connecting any 2 points on the pattern.
And the new Edit Shape command enables complete freedom to the user in changing the outline
shape. The feature allows adding new points, moving point and deleting points.

AutoMarker
1. Improved Horizontal Division performance
The Horizontal division feature now does a better job of interleaving between
divisions. The user can specify the intrusion margin between division and thereby
allow maximum utilization.

3. Marker Plot File Import
HP/GL marker plot file can be imported to create a marker. If the plot file contains the pattern name, size and bundle code using the LB (plotter built-in font command) plot command, the imported marker pieces will be imported with the correct name, size and bundle code.
